Skiing in Montana

Montana IS "The Last Best Place".   There are so many things to do and not enough people to do them all.

I grew up in Missouri and was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to go skiing with my church group when I was 15.   As soon as I hit the snow at the little resort in Steamboat Colorado I knew I wanted to be a skiier.   This is not always easy when you come from a little "mountain" town in the ozarks where the highest "mountain" is not over 2600 ft.

The first time I set foot in Paridise Valley with the Absaroki and the Gallatin ranges flanking either side I knew Montana would be my home and that skiing was in my future. Today I live in the Bitterroot valley and I ski at Lost Trail Powder Mountain, but there are many great places to ski in Montana.   I am not yet the great skiier that I dreamed of being, having grown older and learning that falling hurts more and more as the years go by.  But my 3 kids are amazing skiiers and they all appreciate the great Montana winters.
